On Thursday, November 9th, Cheryl McGinnis Projects partnered with Niki and Shaokao Cheng in an increasing mission to make art more accessible. Believing that exhibiting work in a window space allows for pedestrians to view fully-realized installations in an unexpected way, the Chelsea store and window was transformed into a gallery space to showcase Garret Kane’s “Mimicri” sculptures, along-side some of the artist’s other works. From concepts to the materials and techniques used, almost all his sculptures embody the idea that human beings were made by nature and through technology we attempt to recreate nature in our own image. The artwork is open to the public and available for purchase until November 30th.
